Uses

This tool is used to separate unwanted particles like Stones, sand, weed seeds, etc., from rice; used to separate particles of different sizes; also used to extract the juice from Jack fruit. The base of Vanali consists of mesh with different sizes of perforated openings through which the material is shaken and the foreign bodies get separated.

Small particles can be removed by sieving the grain through a smaller sized screen.
