About the Object
Achi Koll is a traditional rod used with old muzzle-loading guns to fill and compact gunpowder and the ammunition inside the gun barrel.
The Achi Koll was an essential accessory used with traditional muzzle-loading firearms. Since these guns were loaded from the muzzle, the gunpowder and ammunition had to be inserted through the open end of the barrel and properly pushed into position.
The Achi Koll served this purpose as a long, slender rod that could be inserted into the barrel to push and compact the gunpowder and load. It was therefore an important functional component associated with the traditional firearms once used by Kodava men.
