Puthari Kalnji – Edible tuberous vegetable
Puthari Kalnji is an edible tuberous vegetable of Rhizomatos climber and is a species of yam. This yam is called as “Dioscorea Alata” and has many health benefits.
This Kalnji is steamed and consumed with grated coconut, ghee, roasted sesame, sugar jaggery or honey during Puthari festival.
