Banduli – A variety of citrus fruit

Banduli is a variety of citrus fruit which comes under the family of Orange.This fruit is botanically classified as Citrus Medica.

The citron grows up to 4 meters tall. This fruit is an old citrus species with fragrance and thick rind. The citron are widely used in Cuisine, medicines, rituals, perfumes, etc.,

The inner portion of this fruit is thick, hard and white in colour. The pulp is generally acidic and the white portion is sweet which is usually consumed. Citrus medica is a slow growing plant which reached the height of about 2 to 5 metres. These fruits are usually used in cuisines like juice, sauces, tea, jam, fish dish, pickle, fruit cakes, etc.,

The juice is used for treating nausea, excessive thirst, vomiting, cough, skin disease, weak eyesight, flatulence, hemorrhoids, rheumatism, etc.,
