Uppate mara
Uppate mara (Macaranga peltata (Roxb.) Mueller) one of the native trees in kodagu grows up to 10 metres tall. Tree is more common in forest edges, clearings, and secondary forests than in mature forest interiors.It is one of the most widely occurring early successional woody species in Sri Lanka.

Uses
Leaf decoction is used to treat ulcers. Leaves are used as green manure. leaves are used to wrap jaggery and other sweetmeats.
