Puli chekke – Monkey jack
Puli Chekke (Artocarpus gomezianus) one of the native trees in kodagu is an evergreen tree which grows up to 40 metres tall. The straight, cylindrical stem can be unbranched for 10 metres or more. The plant is harvested from the wild for its edible fruit, which is eaten locally. It is also sometimes cultivated for its fruit in Sri Lanka and southern India.
