Thombda is a red donut like structure used in wedding ceremonies.

About

“Thombda” is referred to, a round pad made from soft material, placed on the head to cushion the load while carrying heavy loads on head.

This is commonly found on bride’s head in Kodava wedding, It  is used as a grip and support for the bride while carrying water on her head during the Ganga Puja. They are decorated with beads and with thread work to give a grand look on bride’s head and is also used to carry poliya.

Also used while “ari kadtho” during harvest season.
