    Memories are short lived. not many of this generation are aware of the fact that Coorg has produced the first woman career diplomat of India Ms. Chonira Muthamma Belliappa (in pic). She resided in the heart of Gonikoppal town with her mother, sister and a brother. Her father was a forest officer. Muthamma passed out of St. Joseph 's Convent, Mercara with a 1st class in her S.S.L.C.and stood first in the erstwhile Madras University.
