Meriyanda Okka

About the Okka

When the Meriyanda Okka was getting extinct, Balyavva from this Okka who was not married bought the Spirit deities Kuliya, Natha and Puda from Kerala and established them in their place. The Okka prospered after that. Henceforward the incident whenever a calf is born she is offered with meedhi.

Intermarriage

When Karthanda Okka was becoming extict, Merriyanda Bheemaiah married the last Karthanda girl and became Mannk Nindiya for this Okka. His son Nanjunda had seven sons and four daughters who were bought up by Meriyanda Okka. Hence there are no intermarriages between these two Okkas.
