Ger mara-Cashewnut
Ger mara (cashew) tree one of the native trees in kodagu is a tropical evergreen tree that produces the cashew seed and the cashew apple. It can grow as high as 14 m (46 ft) tall, with a short, often irregularly shaped trunk. The leaves are spirally arranged, leathery textured,with smooth margins.

Uses
Wood is soft, used for making packing cases, wheel hubs, yoke, fishing boats, furniture, false ceilings and interior decoration. The exudates from stem are used as an insect repellent. Fruits are edible and also used for making vinegar. Fruit, flowers and root are useful in treating cough, cold, syphilis, cholera and kidney troubles. Bark is astringent, counterirritant, vesicant, and used for treating ulcer.
