Athi pann mara

Athi pann mara (Ficus glomerata Roxb) one of the native trees in Kodagu is  a large deciduous tree, which grows up to 15 m tall. It has a smooth bark,leaves are dark green in colour and the fruits are in clusters.

Uses

Fruits are edible eaten by birds and animals. Extensively used as fodder; helps in conservation of moisture. Bark decoction is used as an astringent and used to treat dysentery, piles etc. Root water is extracted and used to treat dysentery.
