About the Okka

Appanderanda okka. They are basically from Kandawas, one of the large Okka among Kodava community who have been living from a very long timengala and there are more than 200 members and none lives in the ainmane. It is also said that ages ago, few members from this okka had left around 60 babies at Muthnad; while there are only a few lefts and they do not have an ainmane there. The place where the ainmane is built is believed to be the first sthana in Kodagu for Pashana Murthy. Whenever there is a pashana murthi there anywhere in Kodagu the there asks if there are any Appanderanda member is present.
