Maneyapanda Appaiah Ganapathy (DGP) from kodagu was an officer of the 1986 batch, from the UP/ Uttarakhand cadre. He was devoted officer who took over from B S Sidhu as the DGP of Uttarakhand.

- He was Deputy General of Police, Uttarakhand.
- He rose to the rank of Additional Secretary and was on the Personal Staff of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
- He also served a term as the spokesperson of the Union Home Ministry,
