His tenacity and dedication is an inspiration to the youth and citizens of the country.<\/p>\n<h2>Family<\/h2>\n<h3>Father<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Cholanda Uthappa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Mother<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Cholanda Parvathy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Wife<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Cholanda (Manavattira) Dharani Poovaiah<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Children<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Varun Ganapathy<\/li>\n<li>Karun Subbaiah<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Career<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>He served as a Sub-inspector (1990-2001); Inspector of Police (2001-2013)<\/li>\n<li>Area in-charge: State Crime Record Bureau (Karnataka)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>He served the country for 29 years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Achievements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Impact\/change instigated with the authority of office: The service rendered by C W Poovaiah has impacted the city by making it a safer and more developed place for the citizens to reside in.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>He has led and assisted in the breakthroughs of many unsolved sensational cases.<\/li>\n<li>He has brought about many changes in the traffic routes that have helped reduce congestion and are still in place today when he was the Traffic inspector of Ashok Nagar jurisdiction.<\/li>\n<li>He has arrested many infamous drug peddlers which have helped curb drug menace when he was in Women and Narcotics Wing in CCB.<\/li>\n<li>He holds the state record for the recovery of the highest number of stolen four wheeler vehicles (50 in numbers) in Bengaluru by arresting interstate criminals and avoiding further such thefts.<\/li>\n<li>By arresting 26 members who were involved in the serial blasts in Bengaluru, Coimbatore and Cochin, he has helped in avoiding many terrorist activities in the city.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>By conducting raids on corrupt officials and politicians when in Lokayukta, he has helped in controlling corruption in the city.<\/li>\n<li>When serving in BDA as a DySP, he has assisted in the recovery of nearly 250 crores worth government property from land grabbers in Bengaluru.<\/li>\n<li>He has been effective in avoiding many communal riots by enforcing proper law and order in Bengaluru.<\/li>\n<li>Controlled the circulation of counterfeit notes by arresting the culprits and helped the growth of the economy in the city.<\/li>\n<li>He was very instrumental for the breakthrough of many cases since 1990 in Bengaluru.
