About the Okka<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n

During the rule of Lingaraja in the 18th<\/sup> century, Puttichanda Okka<\/a> which was staying in Rangasamudra near Kushalnagar opposed him and hence he got all of them killed. Somehow two sisters from the Okka<\/a> escaped the massacre. They walked bare foot carrying the Jewellary<\/a> they had. After seeing the Paddy ears filled with rice in a neglected field in Bollarimad they thought that it would be a right decision to settle in that brave soil. Eventually, they also bought around 300 Bhatti of Ungumanda land and built a simple hut out of bamboo slats.<\/p>\n

Intermarriage<\/a><\/h3>\n

After a few years they started looking for a person to get married so that the Okka<\/a> name will be carried. Meanwhile when they couldn\u2019t find anyone, they decided to ask Kodira<\/a> Arjun who had helped them to cultivate the land. Though Arjun was married he decided to marry them according to Okka<\/a> Paraje. These sisters had 7 children and are considered as the ancestors of Puttichanda Okka<\/a>. Hence the members of Puttichanda Okka<\/a> do not inter marry<\/a> with Kodira Okka<\/a>.<\/p>\n
