About the Okka<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Armanamada<\/a> okka’s<\/a> ancestors served the Raja in his aramane so they were called Aramanema\u1e0da which became Arama\u1e47ama\u1e0da over time.The Raja was pleased with the service rendered to him by their karanava<\/a> who worked in the Kaggo\u1e0d panya (fertile land belonging to the Raja, in Kaggo\u1e0d),and gifted him 2000 bhatti bhumi of Komma\u1e0d panya. There are three panyas in Kodagu<\/a>: Kaggo\u1e0d, Komma\u1e0d and Kutta panyas.<\/p>\n

It is said that when Tipu came this way on his way from Periyapatna to Kerala to fight the British, he left the Kannamba\u1e0di mu\u1e0dip that he had brought with him. Lingaraja used to stay in the ainmane<\/a> (this was his panya), and his grain was stored here. He built the Poo\u1ecae kere.<\/p>\n

This branch includes those living in Besagoor, Kottag\u0113ri and Karma\u1e0d, for whom this is the ainmane<\/a>. There is another Arama\u1e47am\u0101\u1e0da branch which is not related to this branch. It includes those living in B\u0113goor, D\u0113vanoor and Ba\u1ecaele. They have no ainmane<\/a> but have karanang kodpa at their karana<\/a> there in Begoor.<\/p>\n

It is said that, in the past, there were tunnels leading from the ainmane<\/a> to the river bed. In the past, the three okkas<\/a> Arama\u1e47am\u0101\u1e0da, Paruvanga\u1e0da and Kokkalema\u1e0da lived in an ur guppe in Pomma\u1e0d (where the Moond okka<\/a> ambala is located).<\/p>\n
