About the Okka<\/strong><\/h2>\n

There are about 70 families in this Okka<\/a>. When the Okka<\/a> was named, it was probably the last ainmane<\/a> in the area, before one reached the Barapole River which forms the border with Kerala. So they were called the kade okka<\/a> (the last okka<\/a>) which became Kademada.<\/p>\n

There were four ajjas in this okka<\/a>, of whom three stayed in B.Shettigeri where the original arvad of the okka<\/a> is. One Ajja, Kalayya, came to Kunda and built the ainmane<\/a>. This bhaga does not go to B. Shettig\u0113ri except to visit the newly renovated kaimada<\/a> there.<\/p>\n

But they join in the Education Fund set up there, because this is a very small bhaga, compared to the numbers in B. Shettigeri.<\/p>\n

Story of the original Ka\u1e0dema\u1e0da in B. Shettigeri: The Ka\u1e0dema\u1e0da arvad in B. Shettigeri was a munde mane<\/a>. It burnt down about 200 years ago, and was rebuilt small about 40 years ago. The arvad, well and kall boti in B. Shettigeri were built by a Pandima\u1e0da thayi who was married into the okka<\/a>. It is said that when she came to her marital home she came walking on a bronze plate (kachi thaliya<\/a>), carrying two thuk bolchas<\/a> on the horns of a buffalo.<\/p>\n
