The Indian National Army (INA)<\/strong>, popularly known as the Azad Hind Fauj<\/strong>, was formed during the Second World War with the objective of securing India’s independence from British rule. Under the leadership of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose<\/strong>, the INA became one of the most prominent armed movements associated with India’s struggle for independence.<\/p>\n Kodagu, known for its long tradition of military service, also had individuals who joined or became associated with the INA. Their contribution forms an important, though comparatively less documented, part of the military and freedom movement history of Kodagu.<\/p>\n KodavaClan records the following Kodavas as having served with or been associated with the Indian National Army:<\/p>\n These names have been preserved as part of the community’s historical record. Detailed information about the service, rank and wartime experiences of each individual may not yet be available in publicly accessible records.<\/p>\n The history of the INA is generally remembered through its leadership, campaigns and the role of Subhas Chandra Bose.
