{"id":3088,"date":"2018-06-27T09:11:06","date_gmt":"2018-06-27T09:11:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/?p=3088"},"modified":"2020-07-16T07:00:08","modified_gmt":"2020-07-16T07:00:08","slug":"kullik-nippo-padathi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/kullik-nippo-padathi\/","title":{"rendered":"Kullik nippo Padathi"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Kullik Nippo<\/h3>\n<p>Kullik Nippo is the rituals, pollution rites observed by members of the deceased person&#8217;s family during the day following the death until <a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/maadha-padathi\/\">maadha ceremony<\/a> that ends ritual. it is a part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/chaavu-padathi\/\">chavu paddhathi<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>About<\/h3>\n<p>If the dead man is married, then his wife and children; if he is unmarried then younger people in his relation will stand for the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/paddathi-rituals-and-customs\/\"><strong><em>padathi<\/em><\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;called&nbsp;<strong><em>\u201cKullik nippo\u201d<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Whoever stands for&nbsp;<strong><em>\u201cKullik nippo\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;will go with one <a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/kindi\/\">kindi<\/a>, one coconut, one mud pot, basket of&nbsp;<em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/samayathakki\/\">Samayathakki<\/a><\/strong><\/em>. After washing their face and leg, a ring made out of dry grass will be tied to their middle finger.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/thombda\/\">Thombda<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;made of grass and top of it mangoe leaves will be placed.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The person who stands infront will hold kindi with dry grass (garikepille) and <a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/maange-mara-mango\/\">mango<\/a> leaves.<\/li>\n<li>The person in the middle will hold mud pot.&nbsp;<em>(The <a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/kindi\/\">kindi<\/a> and mud pot will be filled with water)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>The person who stands behind will carry coconut on his head.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A person will pass the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/samayathakki\/\"><em><strong>Samayathakki<\/strong><\/em><\/a>&nbsp;basket on top of these 3 persons for 3 times and for the fourth time&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/samayathakki\/\"><em><strong>Samayathakki<\/strong><\/em><\/a>&nbsp;will be poured out of the basket. A white sheet of cloth will be held on these three people\u2019e head. These 3 will go near the dead body by pouring little water from <a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/maange-mara-mango\/\">mango <\/a>leaves until they reach the spot. They will go around the burial ground\/wooden plank for 3 times. After this they will go near the dead body and place&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/kindi\/\"><em>kindi<\/em>&nbsp;<\/a>behind, mud pot in the middle and coconut in front. After placing all these things, they will go around the body for three times.<\/p>\n<p>Coconut will be broken by kneeling down by the person who was carrying it;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/kindi\/\"><em>kindi<\/em>&nbsp;<\/a>water will be spilled by the person who was holding it and the mud pot will be hit to the chairs leg.<\/p>\n<p>The person whoever stands for kulik will not consume milk, honey, meat, egg, <a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/akki-otti-flat-bread-made-of-cooked-rice-rice-flour\/\">otti<\/a> and dosa; seasoning is not done for curry. They must sit on the floor on top of <a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/thombda\/\">thombuda<\/a>. To the right hand a silver chain is tied.
