{"id":297,"date":"2018-04-13T10:38:26","date_gmt":"2018-04-13T10:38:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/?p=297"},"modified":"2019-05-20T05:02:18","modified_gmt":"2019-05-20T05:02:18","slug":"iychettira-c-subbaiah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/iychettira-c-subbaiah\/","title":{"rendered":"Iychettira C Subbaiah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/iychettira-okka\/\">Iychettira<\/a> C Subbaiah from Kodagu is the <a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/first-kodava\/\">first Kodava<\/a>&nbsp; to become the chief secretary of Kodagu.<\/p>\n<h2>Education<\/h2>\n<p>He completed his M.A and L.L.B from Madras University and returned to Kodagu and practiced in the judicial Service by the govt.of Kodagu.<\/p>\n<h2>Career<\/h2>\n<p>He became the District and sessions <a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/chief-justice\/\">Judge<\/a> of Kodagu when it was part C state. He was the first Kodava&nbsp; to become the chief secretary of Kodagu. After the merger of Kodagu with the part B State of Mysore he entered the Indian Administrative Service and retired as the Deputy commissioner of Kodagu. His judgement as Sessions <a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/chief-justice\/\">judge<\/a> in the sensational patricide case in Kodagu, sentencing two principles accused who were Kodavas and two farm servants who were abettors to death,was upheld by the Madras high court which exercised Appellate jurisdiction over Kodagu at the&nbsp; time and their appeal to the supreme Court&nbsp; failed.
