Two of them are in Nelji: the <em data-start=\"180\" data-end=\"197\">keeda Ach\u0101n\u1e0dira<\/em> and the <em data-start=\"206\" data-end=\"221\">m\u0113k Ach\u0101n\u1e0dira<\/em>. The <em data-start=\"227\" data-end=\"240\">keeda bh\u0101ga<\/em> continues to have an <em data-start=\"262\" data-end=\"271\">ainmane<\/em>, while the <em data-start=\"283\" data-end=\"294\">m\u0113k bh\u0101ga<\/em> no longer has one. The third <em data-start=\"324\" data-end=\"331\">bh\u0101ga<\/em> was in Kirnd\u0101\u1e0d, but that branch eventually became <em data-start=\"382\" data-end=\"395\">kuthi nasha<\/em> (extinct)<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2 data-start=\"902\" data-end=\"927\"><span id=\"Origin_and_Lineage\"><strong data-start=\"905\" data-end=\"927\">Origin and Lineage<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"671\" data-end=\"961\">A well known hero of this lineage was <em data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"739\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/padebeeras\/\">pa\u1e0d\u00e9 beera<\/a> Ach\u0101n\u1e0dira Appayya<\/em>. After he defeated Karnemb\u0101hu N\u0101yaka of Th\u0101vun\u0101\u1e0d in battle, Karnemb\u0101hu made false allegations about him to the king. As a result of these accusations, Appayya was captured and beheaded by the king\u2019s men in <em data-start=\"946\" data-end=\"958\">Siddhi k\u0101\u1e0d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"963\" data-end=\"1469\">Ach\u0101n\u1e0dira Appayya continues to be honoured and worshipped as the <em data-start=\"1028\" data-end=\"1038\">karanava<\/em> by the Gouda <em data-start=\"1052\" data-end=\"1068\">Mukk\u0101tira okka<\/em>, since the land on which their <em data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1109\">ainmane<\/em> stands originally belonged to the <em data-start=\"1144\" data-end=\"1160\">Ach\u0101n\u1e0dira okka<\/em>, and Appayya\u2019s <em data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1185\">kaimada<\/em> is located there. The <em data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1224\">Mukk\u0101tira okka<\/em> conducts <em data-start=\"1234\" data-end=\"1242\">karana<\/em> in his honour once every five years, on the day after they celebrate <em data-start=\"1312\" data-end=\"1323\">Hari S\u0113ve<\/em>. On the day before <em data-start=\"1343\" data-end=\"1352\">Puthari<\/em>, they also perform a <em data-start=\"1374\" data-end=\"1387\">karana p\u016bj\u00e9<\/em> to Ach\u0101n\u1e0dira Appayya <em data-start=\"1409\" data-end=\"1415\">ajja<\/em>, attended by the villagers of the surrounding area.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1471\" data-end=\"1943\">There is also a connection with the <em data-start=\"1507\" data-end=\"1527\">Appaneravan\u1e0da okka<\/em>. <em data-start=\"1529\" data-end=\"1537\">Karana<\/em> Ponnappa of the <em data-start=\"1554\" data-end=\"1574\">Appaneravan\u1e0da okka<\/em> had married into the now extinct <em data-start=\"1608\" data-end=\"1624\">Ach\u0101n\u1e0dira okka<\/em> of Kirnd\u0101\u1e0d. After defeating Karnemb\u0101hu N\u0101yaka of Th\u0101vun\u0101\u1e0d in battle, Ponnappa and his father in law Ach\u0101n\u1e0dira Appayya were returning when Karnemb\u0101hu made false allegations about them to the king. A\u1e47\u1e47ira Madappa supported these accusations, and both Ponnappa and Appayya were beheaded in <em data-start=\"1912\" data-end=\"1924\">Siddhi k\u0101\u1e0d<\/em> by the king\u2019s men.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2><span id=\"Moolapurusha\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/karona-moolapurasha\/\">Moolapurusha<\/a><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Joyappa and Chembavva.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Joyappa is the moolapurusha.\u00a0 <em>K<\/em><em>\u0101ra\u1e47achi<\/em>\u00a0Chembavva is more famous than\u00a0<em>karanava<\/em> Joyappa as she was very enterprising.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"Ainmane\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/kodava-ainmanes\/\">Ainmane<\/a><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"106\" data-end=\"422\">The first <em data-start=\"116\" data-end=\"125\">ainmane<\/em> of the <em data-start=\"133\" data-end=\"149\">Ach\u0101n\u1e0dira okka<\/em> stood near the temple of <em data-start=\"175\" data-end=\"187\">Igg\u00fcthappa<\/em>, and their first <em data-start=\"205\" data-end=\"219\">\u0101di karanava<\/em> was Chun\u1e0dayya. More than two hundred and fifty years ago, Joyappa <em data-start=\"286\" data-end=\"292\">ajja<\/em> and Chembavva <em data-start=\"307\" data-end=\"314\">th\u0101yi<\/em> left the original <em data-start=\"333\" data-end=\"342\">ainmane<\/em> after a quarrel and built this <em data-start=\"374\" data-end=\"383\">ainmane<\/em> for the <em data-start=\"392\" data-end=\"405\">keeda bh\u0101ga<\/em> of the family.The earlier house came to be known as the <em data-start=\"466\" data-end=\"476\">m\u0113k man\u00e9<\/em>, where the <em data-start=\"488\" data-end=\"499\">m\u0113k bh\u0101ga<\/em> of the <em data-start=\"507\" data-end=\"523\">Ach\u0101n\u1e0dira okka<\/em> continued to live. That old <em data-start=\"552\" data-end=\"561\">ainmane<\/em> collapsed about seven years ago, though the ancient <em data-start=\"614\" data-end=\"623\">kaimada<\/em> still remained and has now been rebuilt. Today, both <em data-start=\"677\" data-end=\"685\">bh\u0101gas<\/em> participate in many festivals in each other\u2019s <em data-start=\"732\" data-end=\"741\">ainmane<\/em>.There is also a story connected with the building of this <em data-start=\"804\" data-end=\"813\">ainmane<\/em>. While Joyappa and Chembavva were constructing it, one of the walls repeatedly collapsed despite several attempts to rebuild it. Finally, they prayed to <em data-start=\"967\" data-end=\"979\">Igg\u00fcthappa<\/em> for help. Chembavva made a vow and offered the deity a gold chain of seven strands. After this offering, the wall stood firm, and the <em data-start=\"1114\" data-end=\"1123\">ainmane<\/em> was successfully completed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"94\" data-end=\"336\">The <em data-start=\"98\" data-end=\"109\">othe pore<\/em> is built on a high foundation, with five steps leading up to it from the yard. On the inner wall of the verandah hang the head of a <em data-start=\"242\" data-end=\"248\">k\u0101ti<\/em> (bison) and its antlers, reflecting the martial and hunting traditions of the <em data-start=\"327\" data-end=\"333\">okka<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"338\" data-end=\"486\">In front of the <em data-start=\"354\" data-end=\"363\">ainmane<\/em> stands an <em data-start=\"374\" data-end=\"385\">atha kott<\/em> (cow shed) with a passage through the middle. This structure may earlier have been a <em data-start=\"471\" data-end=\"483\">bakka p\u00f2r\u00e9<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"488\" data-end=\"937\">Inside the house, the main hall has a smoke stained <em data-start=\"540\" data-end=\"545\">g\u016b\u1e0d<\/em> and a hanging lamp, giving the space the appearance of an old Kodava ceremonial hall. The walls display photographs of <em data-start=\"665\" data-end=\"673\">theres<\/em> conducted in the <em data-start=\"691\" data-end=\"700\">ainmane<\/em>. One photograph shows <em data-start=\"723\" data-end=\"731\">Th\u014dth\u0103<\/em> in simple attire, <em data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"764\">Kutti ch\u0101th\u0103<\/em>, and <em data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"785\">Vish\u1e47u m\u016brthi<\/em>, with the person possessed by the <em data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"830\">karanava<\/em> standing in the centre.
