He was one of the top Industrialist in India and commissioned into the Army in 1941. He served in the army during <a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/world-war-ii-veterans-from-kodagu\/\">World War II.<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1489 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/kupp.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"196\" height=\"251\"><\/p>\n<h2>Author of the Page<\/h2>\n<p>Kuppanda Brinda Somaya<\/p>\n<h2>Family<\/h2>\n<h3>Father<\/h3>\n<p>Kuppanda Muthayya<\/p>\n<h2>Life<\/h2>\n<h3>Born<\/h3>\n<p>15<sup>th<\/sup> February 1914<\/p>\n<h2>Education<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>B.E. \u2013 College of Engineering, Guindy, Madras, India.<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;Post Graduate Course \u2013 Jamshedpur, Technical Institute, India.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Career<\/h2>\n<p>He served in the army during <a href=\"https:\/\/kodavaclan.com\/kodaguheritage\/world-war-ii-veterans-from-kodagu\/\">World War II<\/a> and rose to the rank of Captain.<\/p>\n<p>He joined the Damodar Valley Corporation which was to build a series of four dams, and power stations to supply Hydroelectric Power to Bengal and Orissa.<\/p>\n<p>He worked as the President of National Radio and Electronics Company, Chemical Terminal Trombay Company, Yashmun Engineering Company, Relay selection Committee and Indian Standard institute.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;He also served as the Managing Director of Tata Hydro Electric power supply company, Andhra Valley Power Supply Company and Tata Power Company.<\/p>\n<p>He worked as the Director of Tata Industries Company and Electro International Company.
