Was exploring AR way back in 2006 using J2ME phones and then experimented with &#8220;interactive projections&#8221; and VR in areas such as advertising and medicine and created VR experiences for &#8220;Pain control without drugs&#8221;<br \/>\nHad envisioned an app similar to Pokemon Go months before Pokemon Go was launched.<\/p>\n<h3>Projects:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>2004 2D animated feature film goes for Oscar nominations<\/li>\n<li>2002 3D animated feature film goes for Oscar nominations<\/li>\n<li>2013 Overseas director for Ninja Hattori season 3<\/li>\n<li>2013 Second consecutive win for best design: A&#8217; Design Award at Milan, Italy<\/li>\n<li>2012 Winner for the best design of the prestigious A&#8217; Design Award at Milan, Italy<\/li>\n<li>2011: Finalist British Council Young Creative Entrepreneur Awards 2011<\/li>\n<li>2008: Winner of the First prize at NASSCOM Super Pitch for best 3D animated series for Accel animation<\/li>\n<li>2006: Winner of FICCI award for 3D PC game for Intel and Redoctane technologies, an Activision company<\/li>\n<li>2006: Bagged the First prize at the very first NASSCOM Super Pitch for Best 3D animated series for Image Infotainment Ltd<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Career<\/h3>\n<p>Anjan started his animation career as a traditional 2D animator and soon went on to lead a team of more than 2000 artists and animators to direct full length animated features. Anjan has also conceptualized and created award winning video games of various genres since the J2ME days and into iOS and Android. He is now exploring avenues in AR and VR.<br \/>\nAnjan\u2019s personal motto is \u201cCreativity without boundaries\u201d He conducts workshops on creativity to graduate students and people in the industry.<\/p>\n<p>Anjan started his animation career as a traditional 2D animator. His second film was \u201cLegend of Buddha\u201d a 2D cel animated film . He has directed many more animation films and series including \u201cNinja Hattori\u201d as overseas director. He has held senior positions as Creative Director at leading organisations. Anjan has conceptualized and created award winning video games of various genres since the J2ME days and into iOS and Android. He is now exploring avenues in AR and VR.<\/p>\n<h3>Early Life<\/h3>\n<p>Anjan Cariappa hails from Coorg, India and graduated with a 5 yr degree in Visual Communication Design (BFA) He started his career while in college doing odd jobs at advertising agencies. But heart of hearts it was animation that he wanted to explore. There weren\u2019t many animation studios then. He had decided to be an animator while in his 4th grade in school. Such was his passion for animation. When all the kids around would be saying that they would grow up to be a pilot, doctor or an engineer like all kids even today do, he was sure what he wanted to become. All his text books would be flip books and note books filled with cartoons. In fact all his friends in class would await the release of his regular hand drawn comic books and \u201cflicks\u201d.<\/p>\n<h3>Credentials<\/h3>\n<p>Anjan has more than 7 patents in various fields to his credit. He also has won multiple international awards in Design.<\/p>\n<h3>Passion<\/h3>\n<p>Anjan\u2019s personal motto is \u201cCreativity without boundaries\u201d He conducts workshops on creativity to graduate students and people in the industry. He has been a pioneer and taken his creativity into various other fields such as automotive and road safety with his many inventions. An entrepreneur at heart, he has created many \u201ccommunities\u201d and start-ups including India\u2019s first off road club \u201cJeepThrills\u201d which kick-started off roading as a sport in the country<\/p>\n<p>Anjan is an avid animal lover and works for their rescue and welfare.
