Ever since Chonira B. Muthamma made history as the first Indian woman to write and clear the Civil Services Examination, later serving as India\u2019s first woman diplomat and career ambassador, and with Kodendera Chengappa Madappa (Daddi) being part of the first batch of the Indian Administrative Service in 1946, members of the Kodava community have continued to make significant contributions to the Indian Civil Services.<\/p>\n

Inspired by these early trailblazers, several Kodavas have gone on to serve in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other central services, holding key responsibilities at the state, national, and international levels. Their service spans governance, policy formulation and implementation, law enforcement, diplomacy, and public administration. Collectively, these officers have helped shape institutional frameworks, advance developmental initiatives, and represent India\u2019s interests on global platforms, reinforcing the community\u2019s enduring reputation for discipline, public service, and leadership.<\/p>\n
