About

Thoud is referred to bran. They are the outer layer of the grain and are the integral Part of whole grain.

We know that ummi is the protective cover of grains and whereas thoud is the broken seed coat which is separated during the process of milling.

Ummi has no nutritional value, while thoud is rich in dietary fibre and has essential fatty acids. In Coorg, they are usually used to feed chickens, pigs, fish, etc,
