Thootngala/Kekola
About
Thootngala is referred to cremation ground. Few Okkas have their own demarked area and few share the same with other Okkas.
Thootngala is also described as Kekola or thoope in kodava thakk.
As per the rites, the dead body is bought to Thootngala to perform last rites; traditionally cremated on a funeral pyre usually made of wood or buried. But, nowadays in many cities there are electric or gas based furnaces used in indoor crematoria.
