Theethira Medappa

Theethira Medappa, an eminent kodava born in 1906, did his schooling at Hudikeri School, Virajpet High school and Madikeri High school. He was graduated from St. Aloysius College and later joined Madras Medical College in 1920, and obtained first rank. He was one of the bright students during those days

Achievements

• 1933 – Began his service as a doctor in Coorg and in few years he became famous and was well recognized by each individual.
• 1945 – First person to become a Civil Surgeon in Kodagu
• Served as civil surgeon from 1945 to 1958
• 1958 – Was appointed as Deputy Director of Medical Services

During his service, Government hospitals were in a very good condition and each hospital in coorg had obtained name and fame for its cleanliness and effective service.
