Theethimada K Medappa, an eminent kodava was born on 16th September 1902 in Badaga Village, Kodagu. Medappa was a strong and dedicated leader who was an inspiration to many.

Achievements
- He was the president of Panchayat board for 27 years from 1957-1987
- Was the founder president of Kuttandi High school in 1961 and served as the President of the school until a week before he died.
- Before the year 1940 he was the founder president of Kannangala primary school
- In 1940 V Badaga School was shut by the government due to lack of funds and then M & Mrs Medappa started a charitable school at their home for 6 months and taught children. Six months later the school was reopened by the government after noticing Mr Medappa’s hard work and dedication.
- He was the founder of V Badaga Primary school, Badaga co-operative society and Badaga grameena Bank which is now called as Chamundi Devara fund. Co-operative society is now merged into co-operation Bank.
- The Rudragupee river bridge which connects Balarimaad and Kootnad to Virajpet was constructed in the year 1950 by Mr K Medappa. In 1957 kundapole bridge was connected to Rudragupee Bridge which was also constructed by Mr Medappa.
- The bridge which was designed and constructed by him cost him Rs3000 in which Rs2000 was paid by the Government. The construction of the bridge was so strong that it did not require any alteration or renovation till date.
He died on 29 August 1988.
