A part of the “Aipani”  the  five types of work carried out in paddy fields during the rainy season,  Ploughing is the process in farming, to loosen the soil, Sowing is the process of planting seeds where good seeds are selected and sowed in the field after ploughing. Sowing can be done in different ways, few among them are Hand Sowing, flat sowing, wide bed sowing, etc.,

Type of Work

Hand sowing is the process of throwing handful of seeds on a ploughed ground. Most of the seeds nowadays are sown using a seed drill. Few seeds require treatment before sowing and this process is usually done by placing medium hot water for 24 – 48 hours depending on the condition of seed. Pasteurization and sterilization are the two methods usually used in soil treatments. Soil is heated for 15 minutes for the process Pasteurization and sterilization is done only for the crops which are trying very hard to grow.

The work force for this would be either  Mui Aal – Kood Aal  or  regular wages
