Pemmanda Okka

About the Okka

It was said that during the Raja’s time, when the King’s horse fell and no one could lift it, one of their ancestors did so. Pleased with this, the king asked him what he wanted. The ancestor asked for land and was given jamma land for the okka. Apparently one of his neighbours warned him to only ask for a modest amount of land, saying the king would get angry and cut off his head if he asked for too much.
