Padeyanda okka

About the okka

There are three Paḍeyanḍa okkas. The okka in kaikad is known as Koti Paḍeyanḍa because this land, known as Koti bailu, belonged to Kotiyammanḍa, an Amma okka, whose ainmane was dismantled some years ago. This okka is also called the Pombaḍeyanḍa (golden Paḍeyanḍa) in the temple.

They are not related to the Paḍeyanḍa okka in Kirndaḍ, or the Paḍeyanḍa okka in Yavakapaḍi (whose ainmane has fallen down) and there is no pole-thale between them. However, the three okkas team together to play hockey in the Inter-okka Hockey tournament, and invite each other for weddings and other ceremonies.
