Mukkatira T Nanaiah

Mukkatira T Nanaiah was born in 1941 in Kargunda, Kodagu District. Nanaiah is a designated Senior Counsel at the High Court of Karnataka with a reputation as a reliable and exceptional attorney. With almost four decades of experience as a member of the Bar Council, he has trained over 300 lawyers successfully. He is also the senior advisor at the law firm M.T. Nanaiah Associates that he established in 1978.

Career

• Nanaiah was a journalist before studying law and began his illustrious career in the legal field.

 Achievements

• Nanaiah has represented cases in varied areas of the law including matters pertaining to Constitutional Law, Civil matters, and Criminal matters, Labour, Debt Recovery, Consumer Protection, Cyber-crimes, IPR and Corporate Law.
• Many of his cases have found mention in the law journals as path-breaking precedents.
• Nanaiah’s successes in highly sensitive matters of a criminal nature have added to his reputation as an avant-garde litigator and he is seen as a role model to upcoming lawyers. 
• Nanaiah has also represented Governments of various States as a Special Counsel in matters of significance. He has also been on the panel of legal advisors to the embassies of different countries.
• He was a student leader, General Secretary of the Press Club, Bangalore, the President of the RMV Welfare Society, Bangalore 
• Nanaiah’s contribution to the Society has been consistently recognised and he is held at a very high esteem by the Society at large.
• His views on various matters are consistently sought by the media (print and electronic) and even by educational institutions. His skills to simplify the various complex elements of law to his audience has made him a recognizable figure in his home state of Karnataka 
• President of the Bangalore Kodava Samaja.
