Kolera P. Karumbaiah

• SRI K. P. KARUMBAIAH (1902 – 1972)

Sri Kolera P. Karumbaiah born in 1902 at Madikeri Village, had early schooling at Madikeri, graduated from Mangalore and did his law at Bombay. After a stint as a teacher he joined the profession in 1945 at Virajpet.

He was very active in political field and was elected as a Member of the Kodagu Legislative Assembly as an independent candidate He was a very popular figure of Kodagu, a dynamic personality, a reputed lawyer and was also the President of the Virajpet Bar Association in 1965–1967. He passed away in 1969 Leaving behind six daughters and a son.
