Karana Theare

Karana there is the ritual performed in honor of the founder of the Okka, which is usually performed by a Banna or Maleya who gets into a trance, possessed by the spirit of the ancestor.
This there is usually held in the month of Aadare (June/July) or else Tholyaar (October/November). Panikanga are allowed inside the house on the day of there.

This is held outside the house and is performed by Paaleya and has got 5 types –

Mandanna Murthy There

This is performed by Panika inside the house and has got 5 different types of there–
1. Dharmadevathe
2. Kaali
3. Kuliya
4. Nuchikomme
5. Saarthavu
