Kallichanda Okka

About the okka

KaỊỊichanḍa ainmane in Chikkamunḍoor was a mund mane earlier. When Achu Nayaka (whose okka was the only one in Chikkamunḍoor at that time) begged god Ayyappa in Naḍikeri to send okkas to Chikkamunḍoor, the god sent a Kallichanḍa boy from Naḍikeri to Chikkamunḍoor where he grew up and built an ainmane for his bhaga. That ainmane too is no longer there.

It is said that KaỊỊichanḍa ainmane in B.Shettigeri was dismantled about 10 years ago.Those in Kakoor (beyond Srimangala), Kottageri and BaỊele come to this ainmane; whereas those in Mugutageri, Hebbale and Chikkamunḍoor do not come here. The jamma land came to the branch that stayed in Nadikeri.  

Kallicha Family has a stone for a yerava tribe inside the Karona Theare recognising his contribution for the okka and offerings are made during annual Karanang koduppa Eve
