About

Justice Mr. Maletira P. Chinnappa had his early education in Government School, Virajpet and graduated in Arts faculty from Govt. College, Madikeri.  He did his Law degree from BMS College, Bangalore.  During his college days, he was a very good athlete and captain of College Hockey Team.

He started his career as an Advocate in Madikeri and in the year 1983, he joined the Judiciary, as Sessions Judge.  In his capacity as Sessions Judge, he served in Bangalore and Belgaum.   He also served as Chairman of Transport Appellate Tribunal.  Later he became the Registrar (Judicial) & Registrar General of High Court of Karnataka.  In the year 1995 he was appointed as a Judge of the Karnataka High Court. In the year 2003, he retired as a Judge of the High Court of Karnataka.  After retirement he held various positions and he held the position of Chairman of State Police Complaints Authority.
