Dr. Chowrira Jagath Thimmaiah a Phd holder from Kodagu was born on 12/03/1962 and he is the Principal of Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa College, Madikeri. He is also a Lion’s club Member at Murnad since 1996 and was 2 time president of the club. He has the honour of authoring 2 books & publishing 9 papers.

He started teaching Botany at Field Marshal K.M.Cariappa College since 1986. He has 7 years of Research experience; published two books: Vegetation of Field Marshal K.M.Cariappa College Campus (2006) and Black Mildews of Kodagu (2013), nine papers in national and internationally reputed journals. He served as BOE Chairman and Coordinator of practical examinations in Botany of University of Mangalore (20122014). Established Fungal Herbarium in Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa College, Madikeri, comprising 260 foliicolous fungal material with permanent slides
