Codanda Rohini Poovaiah
Codanda Rohini Poovaiah was born in 1895 at Madikeri.
Education
She did her schooling at Bangalore London Missionary high school and completed her degree in BA at Madras Queen Mary College and obtained a gold medal. Rohini Poovaiah was the first Kodavathi in Kodava community to obtain degree during the time.
Achievements
- She worked at Dr Annie Besant theosophical college, Varanasi, Arya Kanya Vidya Mahavidyalaya, Jalandhar, Mahatma Gandhi Ashram, Sabarmati, Navsari Tata Girls High school.
- She was the principal of Crest White Girls College Allahabad.
- She was a social worker at Bombay under servants of India Society.
Awards
- The Government of India felicitated Kumari Kodanda Rohini Poovaiah with “Padmashree” Award. In 1973.
