Chenanda C Machaiah – Boxer

Chenanda C Machaiaha famous sportsperson is an accomplished boxing champion from Coorg. He was one of the boxer’s in the early days who has represented India at the International Stage.

He has won a total of 6 international medals which includes one Gold medal. He represented India in the year 1976 at Montreal and lost in the first round in the Light Welterweight category.

  • He is the recipient of the Arjuna Award in 1978-79, the highest sports honour for a sportsman in India.
  • He won the Abhimanyu Award.
