• During the 1973 world cup finals he heard Mr Jaswanth Singh commentary and was inspired by him.
• His father encouraged him to play hockey and bought him a hockey stick at a very young age.
• Later the Madras Engineering team supported and encouraged him throughout his career

Achievements

• In 1986 Asian Games, Seoul, South Korea he won Bronze
• In 1988 he represented India in Olympics
• In 1989 Asia cup, New Delhi he won silver
• In 1990 he represented India in world Cup held at Lahore, Pakistan
