Baduvamanda okka

About the Okka

It is said that their ancestor was an Amma lady called Baḍuvamma, and that the okka might have been named after her

It is believed that the land belonged to an Amma okka, where there were two sisters Baḍuvamma and Kuttamma. They were married by Kodava men (mannk nindiya), and their descendants became the Baḍuvamanḍa okka and the Kuttanḍa okka. Therefore there is no inter-marrying between the two okkas, although they do not observe mutual theeke. They have a common thutengala and observe all festivals on the same day.
