About the Okka

Ages ago, when two ancestors from Achappanda Okka left Peggala, one ajja settled in Podd and started the Achapanda Okka – 2. The other Ajja mannk Nindiye to a Brahmin family in Arji.

Intermarriage

Only one girl from Pattada Okka escaped death in Tippu’s attack.  An Achappanḍa man married her (mannk nindiya) and he adopted the mane peda Pattaḍa and they do not intermarry.
