Battiyanda Okka

About the Okka

Battiyanda Okka came from Kaikad after their ainmane fell there. There were four Okkas in the village that lived in an ur guppe before they built their ainmanes – Battiyanda , Mundyolanda , Kolira  and Chowrira.

Intermarriage

Two sisters were left in the Battiyanda Okka when all the men in the okka were killed by Tippu’s army. One girl was married by Bepadiyanda man and the other girl was married to Cheyanda man from Cheyyandane. Hence there is no intermarriage between Battianda and Cheyyanda Okka.
