Kakamada okka

About the Okka

Kakamada okka is based in Begur (near Ponnampet) This okka has two bhagas. The original arvad of the Kakamada okka was an othe pore nearby and belongs to the Kakamada-1 bhaga. About four generations ago Ayyappa, the Karanava of this okka, broke away from the arvad, established a separate bhaga, Kakamada -2 and built the ainmane. He felt that his family was treated badly by the other bhaga as his family was given kanji while the others were given otti. In a fit of anger, he threw his plate with kanji and came away and built the ain house. They observe mutual pole-thale.
