Karinervanda M Somanna a sportsperson was born on October l 21st 1985 in Palangala Virajpet, Kodagu. He is an international hockey player who has Ekalavya award to his credit. At the age of 12 he started playing hockey.

- He represented Karnataka state senior national Championship 2011 held at Bophal, Madhya Pradesh (Silver)
- He represented Karnataka state senior national Championship 2012 held at Bangalore, Karnataka (Bronze)
- He represented Karnataka state senior national Championship 2013 held at Pune, Maharashtra (Bronze)
- He represented Chennai Warriors Team in the Chennai premier hockey League 2006
- He represented Chennai Warriors Team in the Chennai premier hockey League 2007
- In the International Level he represented the Asian indoor games 2007 held at Macau China (3rd place) and scored 10 Goals
