Alemada B Cheeyana

Alemada B Cheeyana a famous Kodava sportsperson was born on April 19^th 1985 in Kodagu. He is an international hockey player who has Ekalavya award to his credit. At the age of 16, he was inspired by his parents to take up hockey.

Education

• He did his schooling in M.C.S high school in 2000
• PUC from Surarna College Kodagu in 2002
• He did his BA (Bachelor of Arts) from Surana College Kodagu in 2005

Career

• Cheeyana joined SAI hosterl in 2002, where he spent four years. He got his basic training at the age of 16 and completed his advance training at the age of 18 in Bangalore.

Achievements

• He was part of the Junior India teams in 2007, making his junior debut in the Monchengladbach 8-Nation.
• He played Jalandhar Senior Nationals in 2007
• He made his senior India debut against New Zealand in the 17th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, 2008
• He plays Premier Hockey League for Bangalore Lions. The hard working forward Cheeyana was spotted prominently at Chandigarh PHl, where he scored some beautiful goals.

Awards

• He received the Ekalavya award in 2011 for his outstanding performance.
