Jung

The word “Jung” in Kodava language has got two meaning –

1. Strands of twisted fibre of cotton, silk or wool.
2. Wrinkles which appears on skin during old age.

Strands are combined from fibres and are usually narrow flat bands with high strength material. Laminating layer to layer around the strands creates a very strong bond reducing the adhesive needed. The strands may be short or long; when coming to mats, chopped strand mat will not have much strength while woven cloth or mixed one has got more strength.

Wrinkle is the fold or crease that appears on the skin or on a fabric. Skin wrinkles may appear due to aging process, weight loss or when the skin is immersed for a long time inside the water. Wrinkles can also be found in animals such as dogs, elephants, many more.
