Konganda Charmanna Cariappa
Konganda Charmanna Cariappa was born on 13th April 1994 in Bangalore. As a sportsperson initially he played a lot of tennis ball cricket, leather ball cricket happened to him only by chance after everyone around him encouraged him to try leather ball cricket owing to his peculiar bowling action. He can turn the ball both ways with the leg-spinner being his stock delivery. The carom-ball remains his lethal weapon in the shortest format of the game.

Achievements
- Cariappa began playing as a fast bowler and was also an all rounder, later he started bowling orthodox round –arm action.
- As a spinner he played a lot of tennis ball tournaments before playing for social cricket club in Bangalore. Later he went on to play in the Karnataka Premier league.
- He played for the Socials Cricket Club in the first division after taking up leather ball cricket at the age of 16.
- He went for trials with KKR before the 2014 CLT20, thus putting him on the team’s radar.
- He played for Bijapur Bulls in 2014 and picked up 11 wickets at an economy rate of 6. He was the 3rd highest wicket taker in the tournament.
- He was a part of the Karnataka under-19 squad and also a part of the probable Ranji team list.
- His impressive show in the KPL earned him a call up to the Karnataka side; he played four matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2015-16. He finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker for Karnataka with 7 wickets at an economy rate of 6.66.
- He represented Karnataka in the Under-16 and Under-19 circuits. He was purchased by Kings XI Punjab for INR 80 lakh in the IPL 2016 player auction
- He shot to prominence when he was purchased for INR 2.4 crore by Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2015 player auction.
- Ahead of IPL 2016, he was released from KKR. In the IPL 2016 auction, he was bought by Kings XI Punjab. He grabbed 3 wickets in 5 matches.
- He was retained by Kings XI Punjab for the 10th season for Indian Premier League.
