Ambatte – Hog Plum

Ambatte (Spondias pinnata (L.f) Kurz.) one of the native trees in Kodagu is a deciduous tree which grows up to  25 m tall. The bark is greyish, smooth and aromatic. Flowers are white in colour and fruits resemble unripe mangoes.
