Kademada Swami Narayanananda

Kademada Swami Narayanananda, born on 12th April 1902, in Kongana, B. Shettigeri, completed his studies and renounced the world to become a monk in 1929 and joined the Ramakrishna Mission.He was also an author who wrote several books. Nanjappa (Swami Narayanananda) from Kademada family had lost his father at the age of 10. This became the major turning point of his life. He practiced intense meditation in Himalayas and attained a supreme state. For many years he was secluded, writing several books and studying the mind function. Eventually, Swamy Narayanananada’s books were spread to the western countries. Swami Narayanananada attained moksha at the age of 85 in Mysore.

Work

Swami Namarayanananda was a simple monk, who did not care about physical comfort, money and publicity; he devoted himself completely to the pioneering study of mental process.

He had several disciples in Denmark, hence frequently visited this country every year for about 7 months. Ashramas were established in Gylling, Denmark, Germany, Norway, India, Sweden and USA.

Teachings

Narayananda has given guidance to spiritual seekers from his teachings called “The Universal Religion”. His works also include in other subjects like – philosophy, psychology, spirituality, yoga, meditation, Inspiration, etc.
